The City - Snow Storage

The City of Burlington uses a small area of the reserve for snow storage. Seasonal encampments scatter the surrounding slopes and melting snow reveals content after the annual Mardi Gras parade

The City - Utility

Several utility lines run north/south through the Reserve including water and sewer, telephone, and three-phase electricity. The city recently approved a bond measure to move utility lines underground along the waterfront south of the Reserve, but on the reserve itself, new taller poles were installed Spring, 2013. This will reduce outages because higher lines are less susceptible to damage from tree limbs. The project will also open up the viewshed for bikers and walkers in the area. Some views from the terrace above may be negatively impacted.

With approval for bike path and waterfront renovations, the electrical gird is also being upgraded
